At FitzMartin, we embarked on a pioneering journey to solve a unique challenge faced by many of our prospects: the daunting task of leveraging technology effectively within their organizations. This case study narrates our successful integration of HubSpot CRM, a beacon of user-friendly design, with Blackbaud, a platform known for its robust capabilities but outdated user interface reminiscent of Windows 1998, (complete with a floppy disk save icon).

The Challenge:

The project to integrate HubSpot CRM with Blackbaud epitomized this challenge. We initiated the project with an in-depth investigation into the open API capabilities of Blackbaud, aiming to uncover a pathway that would allow for a fluid exchange of data with HubSpot CRM. Our approach was meticulous, involving the creation of a custom mapping structure that bridged the gap between the advanced, user-friendly HubSpot CRM and the more traditionally designed Blackbaud system.

The integration process was comprehensive, starting with a design and development phase focused on ensuring a robust sync mechanism. We implemented a monthly continuity model, allowing for incremental updates and rigorous testing in a sandbox environment prior to pushing changes into production. This approach ensured that the integration remained flexible, scalable, and aligned with our client's evolving needs.
